Our
History

2002

A group of finance professionals who found a critical gap in skills-based volunteering
opportunities launched a pro bono advising project with a local community entrepreneur.

2003

New York Professional Advisors for Community Entrepreneurs (NYPACE) was
incorporated in New York State and received Section 501(c)3 nonprofit status the
following year.

2012
The first full-time employee, current Deputy Director Stephanie Bombaci, was hired and the first NYPACE annual fundraiser evening was held.
2016

100th small business project launched (12 projects per year since becoming a staff-led
organization).

2018

Hired Ken Inadomi as first Executive Director and established corporate partnership
program with JPMorgan Chase, the start to cohort-style programming.

2020

The first programming outside of NYC (in Chicago) created with the JPMorgan Chase
partnership program.

2022
Hired Ibrahima Souare as Executive Director, raised the first operating budget over $1,000,000 and surpassed 100 entrepreneur service engagements in a year.
2023

Launched Sprints Day of Service, a new program to complement the 8-week Flagship
cohort program.

2024

Implemented the board-endorsed three-year Strategic Plan that sets the NYPACE vision
through 2027.
